5-Minute Peanut Butter Protein Smoothie Bowl

A thick and creamy peanut butter protein smoothie bowl made in five minutes with frozen banana, Greek yogurt, peanut butter, vanilla protein powder, and simple toppings.

Ingredients
  

  • Smoothie Bowl
  • 1 large ripe banana sliced and frozen
  • 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder approximately 25–30g
  • ¼ cup milk plus more only as needed
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 –2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup optional
  • Optional Toppings
  • ½ small banana sliced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh berries
  • 1 tablespoon granola
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon peanut butter
  • Small pinch chopped peanuts

Method
 

  1. Add Greek yogurt and milk to a high-powered blender.
  2. Add peanut butter, protein powder, cinnamon, and vanilla.
  3. Add frozen banana pieces.
  4. Blend on low, gradually increasing the speed.
  5. Stop and scrape down the sides as necessary.
  6. Use a blender tamper if available.
  7. Add additional milk only 1 tablespoon at a time if needed.
  8. Blend until thick, creamy, and spoonable.
  9. Taste and add optional honey or maple syrup if desired.
  10. Scrape into a wide breakfast bowl.
  11. Top with banana, berries, granola, and chia seeds.
  12. Finish with a small drizzle of peanut butter.
  13. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Freeze ripe banana slices completely for the thickest consistency.
  • Begin with only ¼ cup milk.
  • Different protein powders absorb different amounts of liquid.
  • Add extra milk one tablespoon at a time.
  • Use Greek yogurt rather than thin regular yogurt for a thicker bowl.
  • Don't overblend, as friction can begin warming the mixture.
  • Add toppings immediately before serving.
  • Smoothie bowls are best enjoyed fresh.
