Caramel Apple Cider Mocktail

Ingredients
  

  • For the Mocktail:
  • 1 1/2 cups cold apple cider
  • 1 cup cold sparkling water or club soda
  • 2 tablespoons caramel sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Ice cubes
  • For the Cinnamon-Sugar Rim:
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon caramel sauce for the rim
  • For Garnish:
  • 2 thin fresh apple slices
  • 2 cinnamon sticks optional

Method
 

  1. Chill the apple cider and sparkling water before preparing the drinks.
  2. Combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon for the rim on a small shallow plate.
  3. Spread a very thin layer of caramel around the rim of each glass.
  4. Dip the rims gently into the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  5. Fill each glass approximately halfway with ice.
  6. Divide the apple cider between the two glasses.
  7. Add 1 tablespoon caramel sauce to each glass and stir until mostly incorporated.
  8. Divide the lemon juice between the glasses.
  9. Add a small pinch of cinnamon to each glass.
  10. Slowly pour the sparkling water over the cider mixture.
  11. Stir gently to combine without removing too much carbonation.
  12. Garnish each glass with a thin apple slice and optional cinnamon stick.
  13. Serve immediately.
