Ingredients
Method
- Pour the milk into a medium mixing bowl or large measuring jug.
- Add the Greek yogurt and whisk until smooth.
- Add the maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Whisk until evenly combined.
- Sprinkle the chia seeds gradually over the milk mixture.
- Whisk or stir thoroughly for 30–45 seconds, making sure no dry clumps remain.
- Let the mixture sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes.
- Stir thoroughly again to redistribute any chia seeds that have begun clumping or settling.
- Cover the bowl or divide the mixture among 4 individual jars.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- Stir the chilled pudding before serving.
- If the pudding is too thick, stir in a small splash of milk.
- If the pudding is too thin, stir in an additional 1–2 teaspoons chia seeds and chill for another 30–60 minutes.
- Taste and add more maple syrup if desired.
- Add fresh berries, granola, nut butter, or other toppings immediately before serving.
Notes
Stir the chia pudding twice before chilling: once immediately after adding the seeds and again after 5–10 minutes. This helps prevent clumping.
The pudding needs at least 4 hours to fully thicken, but overnight chilling gives the best texture.
Greek yogurt is optional but creates a richer, creamier pudding.
Any milk can be used, including dairy milk, almond milk, oat milk, soy milk, or coconut milk beverage.
Different milk varieties can slightly change the finished consistency.
If the pudding becomes too thick during storage, stir in a splash of milk before serving.
Add crunchy toppings such as granola and nuts immediately before eating.
Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
